Welcome to

St Helen's Eco Church

God in all things

St Helen's Eco Church meets every fourth Sunday in the month at 3.30pm. At its heart is a belief in God in all things, a God who is at work in creation and through community. Eco Church is about connecting this faith to our concern for the environment. We hope and pray for a better, fairer and greener world and seek to use our time, energy and creative imagination to work towards this goal.

Each gathering follows a pattern which includes a reflection and prayers, an activity with an eco-focus and a bring-and-share meal.

Our activities centre largely around the churchyard, where we are creating a wildlife haven and contemplative space. We

also support village environmental projects - such as the St Helens Village Green tree-planting consultation - and engage in national lobbying campaigns, and craftivism activities. We have guest speakers on environmental themes.  Future plans include finding ways to encourage schools, children's groups and families to use our churchyard for bug hunts and nature projects.

News UPDATE

Wildlife Count

At our Family Wildlife Count on 4th June, the IW Natural History group recorded 141 plant and animal species in the churchyard! You can find out more here.

We expanded this list further on 4th September, when some of the IW naturalists did a fantastic bat and moth survey in the churchyard!
